Public Information will become commoditized

Everything you've ever tweeted, posted, mentioned on a podcast, or written in an article, will be easily accessible. That information will be public knowledge, and easily accessible.

If you mentioned your favorite tequila in a podcast 8 years ago, that'll be saved and available.

Anyone who's mentioned something about you (given levels of trust) will also be stored. If a friend mentioned you both ski in Vermont every other year, that'll be saved.

What does mean for the companies that host my information?

What about my Facebook, IG, Twitter, and LinkedIn?

This gives companies those companies a small advantage when it comes to the first wave of personalization (Public Information), but not much. Most information will be available for companies (and even individuals) eventually.

Impact:

Improved shopping and more: If you ever mentioned your favorite drink (i.e. a specific tequila) or your shoe size anywhere online, you’ll never be asked it again. On the flip side, every company and individual could see that information.

It will be extremely easy to find and will be 100% commoditized.

Privacy, the case for anonymity: This will also lead to individuals being more careful with regard to what information they share on social and on the internet as a whole. There's a chance for an important layer it anonymity when purchasing online or browsing.

Conclusion:

Today's Prominent Companies: For some time, this information will seem extremely important. Companies like Meta, IG, Twitter, Google, Apple, Microsoft, etc. will seem impossible to beat, and it will seem like that because many of them have information which isn't 100% public yet.

They'll still might be the biggest companies in the world, but it won't be because they have that information. Since that information will quickly become readily available and therefor invaluable as any type of business moat.

Value of Private Information: There will be a moment of realization, and all of a sudden the world will see why private and personal information is truly the most important.

Whoever has that, and trust, will win.

It's very improbable that the companies mentioned will be able to get it (view why here).

The very few companies who do will do so by creating an incredible relationship with their users, and their users will willingly share about them to improve their life experience.
